The Committee on Culture of UCLG launches the programme "Pilot Cities 2014"

A programme of Pilot Cities will be developed between 1 April and 31 December 2014 and makes part of the process to elaborate the new Agenda 21 for culture. The process was initiated by the Committee on Culture in 2013 in Lille-Métropole, Buenos Aires and Rabat and will continue in 2014, with meetings, seminars, articles, questionnaires and pilot-cities. The process will conclude with a major event in 2015: a “Culture Summit of UCLG”.

The Board of the Committee on Culture of UCLG approved the launch of a "pilot cities" programme in 2014 in order to:

  1. offer a specific activity to the cities that wish to align policies and activities with Agenda 21 for culture,
  2. increase the number of “good practices” of our database, and
  3. initiate concrete and useful work with cities that seek to be active members of the UCLG cities network (“Core cities”) dedicated to the implementation of the new Agenda 21 for culture in 2015-2017.
