It is with deep regret that the Presidency, World Secretariat and Members of United Cities and Local Governments have learned of the passing away of Uwe Lorenzen, Head of the European Union Department of Local Government Denmark.
A remarkably active member of the international movement of local and regional government networks, Uwe Lorenzen contributed greatly to the organization and success of the UCLG Executive Bureau and the Local Government Climate Change Leadership Summit in Copenhagen last June 2009.
He held the respect and friendship of his colleagues, who wish to convey to his family and close friends, as well as to his partners and to the members of LGDK, their deepest sympathies and their support at this difficult time.
