An online survey to report on SDG localization at local and regional levels

An online survey to report on SDG localization at local and regional levels

Since 2016, United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) presents every year, on behalf of the Global Taskforce of Cities and Local Governments, a report to the UN High Level Policy Forum (HLPF) on the "role of local and regional governments in localizing SDGs”. The next report will be presented in July 2019.

UCLG is launching a survey (deadline 15 April 2019) aimed at local and regional governments, associations, civil society, the private sector and academia to identify the most significant data on the experience of local and regional governments in localizing SDGs around the world. The information obtained will be used to develop the report on the contribution of local governments to the HLPF 2019.

The 2019 High Level Policy Forum will be particularly important as it closes the first full four-year cycle of SDGs evaluation. Convened under the theme "Empowering People and Ensuring Inclusion and Equality", this year’s meeting focuses on the assessment of SDG 4 (education), 8 (decent work and economic development), 10 (reducing inequality), 13 (climate action) and 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions).

All the information, experiences and practices of local and regional governments are essential to produce this report that recognizes the contributions of local and regional governments to the process of localizing SDGs.

UCLG kindly requests your contribution to support this initiative. We would appreciate it if you could complete and send us the survey before April 15, 2019 to the email address [email protected].
