Homelessness is a global phenomenon, in developing and developed countries alike, set to worsen through increasing urbanization. According to the Special Rapporteur on adequate housing, "Homelessness is a global human rights crisis that demands an urgent global response”. So, in the aftermath of Sustainable Development Goals and its call for “leaving no one behind”, how will homelessness and its multiple causes be addressed in urbanization? Through an open dialogue, the side-event intends to send clear recommendations for the New Urban Agenda.

Dialogue between:
Bahram GHAZI, Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights of United Nations
Laia Ortiz, Barcelona Deputy Mayor for Social Rights
Freek Spinnewijn, FNASAT
Patrick Braouezec, President of Plaine Commune Urban Community
Giovanni Allegretti, Searcher at Social Studies Center of Coimbra
